Your newborn baby faces many trials after his birth.
Whether the birth was natural or assisted, a newborn baby experiences a great deal of stress as he copes with the abrupt change in the world as he knows it.
The first few weeks are a crucial time. You try your level best to get things organized suitably and your newborn baby tries his best to unsettle things. You just have to give it maximum priority and the adjustment with your infant will be perfect if you follow the tips given.
Talking to your baby is the best way to teach him to communicate. At the time of his birth he is already strengthened by your familiar voice to lead him on. Use rhyming words when you speak or read to him, or better still sing songs.
Very small babies do not have a clear vision but they will try to focus on you if you look at them directly while talking to them. By making eye contact with your newborn baby when you talk to or massage him, you are communicating with him, and if you watch his cues, you’ll learn how he communicates with you.
This would have a soothing effect on both of you and make the bond even stronger. Learn the technique of doing this correctly and make it a daily habit. It also induces sleep and creates a higher level of bonding with his parent.
Hold your baby close, often: Research shows that keeping him close is good for him. He should thrive when in physical contact with you. Cozy by your side, the rhythm of your heart beat and the warmth of your body make your baby relaxed and secure. If you want to do a few things around the house and also have the comfort of your baby with you, carry him in a sling.
When your baby cries you may feel exasperated. It is not a habit but a means of letting you know that he is in some kind of discomfort, be it hunger, pain, wetness or simply craving for more attention. Pick him up, cuddle him, and try to figure out just what it is he needs. After that you can respond to his needs quickly.
Do not think you will spoil him. This will grow with your paying constant attention to him. It’s not uncommon for moms to feel out of sync with their babies in the first few weeks. When your newborn baby receives your total attention through all his senses, it soothes his nerves.
While your baby will not need one right away, eventually your child will need one of those baby play mats. We have great tips on our site. Visit us at: http://www.babyactivitycenters.net.
